Upgrading the RAM

First of all I would like to mention that this guide is thanks to TheMole, who runs hp2133guide.com (check the links section or the end of this article). After this text description, I'll post a link to the video he made (Better than this text description). I would encourage you to watch the video.

Type of RAM

The maximum amount of RAM that is supported by the MiniNote is 2Gb/Go and the type you will need is;

  • 667Mhz DDR2 SO-DIMM (5300)

steps

  1. Remove the battery, by pulling the two tabs on either side of the battery.
  2. remove the Three screws that have the keyboard logos next to them ( previously covered by the battery )
  3. on the right hand side of the keyboard is a little clip that holds the keyboard in place. (their are two on the left hand side).
  4. push this clip in and pop the keyboard up and pull it out, be carefull during this step.
  5. You should now have access to both the RAM and the HDD/SDD,
  6. To remove the RAM pull the two clips away from the RAM module and the ram should just pop out.
  7. Place the new RAM where the old RAM was and push it into the slot until the gold pins are no longer visable.
  8. Then push down on the RAM until the clips pop back into place.
  9. If you have problems booting after this check that the RAM is properly installed.
